Lean manufacturing was developed by Toyota, and is based on two principles: “Kaizen” – organizing for continuous improvement, and “Muda” – aiming to eliminate all forms of waste in the manufacturing process: wasted resources, wasted time, wasted effort, etc. When establishing the idea of the Lean Startup, Eric Ries called his process “the Lean Startup”, as he found many similarities between what he thought should be the process of entrepreneurship, and “Lean Manufacturing”. What were these similarities?
